Watch the full address on Saturday (Oct 23) by Singapore's multi-ministry task force on Covid-19.

They acknowledged the public's disappointment with the extension of restrictions to Nov 21, and explained the rationale behind the move and reassured that Singapore remains committed to living with the virus.

New healthcare protocols were also announced on Saturday. The Home Recovery Programme will include fully vaccinated pregnant Covid-19 patients, who are below 35 years old and are less than 26 weeks pregnant.

The Sinovac vaccine will also be included in Singapore's national vaccination programme to cover those unable or unwilling to be vaccinated with mRNA vaccines.

Orange County Firefighters Service are suing Orange County government. An attorney for the group filed a motion on Oct. 1 asking for an emergency injunction to block the county from requiring employees to submit to unwanted vaccinations. Employees say they were at first told that they’d be fired if they didn’t take the vaccines. Later, the county changed the plan to issuing written reprimands, employees said. The department would not have been able to provide services properly if there was a sudden loss of 500 employees, about 38 percent of the department.
