A cloudy afternoon made way for a stormy night in Phoenix on Thursday.
This comes after the monsoon brought rain, lightning and extremely strong winds to some parts of the Valley on Wednesday.
"Heads up for the people in the far southeast Valley. The severe storm over the Superstitions has wind gusts of 60-70 mph. These strong winds are headed your way. Seek shelter," NWS in Phoenix said around 6:15 p.m.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect in parts of the Phoenix metro area. A Dust Storm Warning is active until 7:30 p.m. in Casa Grande.
