The Negation of the Real | Dr. James Lindsay

Mere Simulacrity, Session 1

If you want to impose a totalitarian system, you have a problem on your hands: reality. The real is in your way and will eventually veto your project. Far sooner, people who can perceive reality will step in and prevent you from taking society over a cliff. Therefore, the only way to install a totalitarian system is to negate the real in the minds of those over whom you would rule. This is accomplished by creating an interpretive frame that deliberately causes people to misunderstand reality, sometimes called a "second reality" or "pseudoreality," or even a "hyperreality," which loses all contact with reality through its images and constructions. The totalitarian system "works" and would only work in that false image of reality. In his first talk at the Mere Simulacrity conference in Phoenix, Arizona, in December 2022, Dr. James Lindsay presents the idea and mechanism of negating the real to replace it with a hyperreal simulation in which totalitarianism can be accomplished. This, he argues, enables the installation of the Esoteric cult religion needed to advance the tyranny. I was part of a program with my local NPR station to help them with their liberal bias, so they had half liberals and half conservatives talking about how they cover things. And one liberal woman was talking about how scared she was to start a family because the Republicans had made it illegal to get a medially necessary abortion (and I assume she thinks the procedure to get rid of an ectopic pregnancy is an abortion, which it is not) and I informed her that it wasn't true. That in our state, and in every state in the union there was a stated exemption to the abortion law that it be legal to save the life of the mother. The liberal woman said that it was NPR who reported that and asked if I was saying that NPR was lying to her and I said yes, if they said that, they were lying because we can look up the laws right now and see what it says. The producers interrupted us and started babbling on about access to care and poor women not being able to travel and I said No, it doesn't matter what state you are in, there is no state in the US where a medically necessary abortion is illegal. They then informed me that that was just "my truth" and they had "their truth" and that there is no such thing as objective reality. This is part of the magic, they try to confuse you by breaking down reality and substitute it for their fake reality that has no rhyme or reason and is only what they need to say to get you to do what they want you to do. But I persisted that there was an objective truth, and I would not let it slide when blatant lies were being repeated. An 18 year old liberal young man told me to be quiet. A liberal school teacher lectures me on not using such black and white language and that all things are subjective. I said that the law was no subjective, we could look it up right now. I was told by a conservative woman that she agrees with me (as if it's an opinion and not an objective fact) but that I needed to stop talking. It was absolutely maddening to be the only one in a room who believes in objective truth, and not just saying whatever lies will get "my side" to win the debate. Not a single person would admit it to me, no one wanted to look up the law, no one wanted to hear it. They act like it's a game.

Mr. O Fallon, thanks for uploading this! I've been trying to have conversations about this topic for years, and been treated like a crazy person.
In 2020 I commented on one of your posts the you responded to and told me not to lose sight of the bigger picture.
I didn't! I see now how intrinsic the leisure industries were to what most people considered " normal " life.
I also see how the corruption of language paired with an illiterate (by which I mean doesn't read, not incapable of reading) population creates the circumstance for mentacide. ( mentacide being defined as the killing of the cognitive mind)
Thanks for what you do here, and Thanks to James Lindsey, who helped me to read garbage without being infected with bad thought

It’s not saying “All knowledge is incomplete” nor even the idea of the oroboros that makes their ideology so destructive, it’s the idea that “everything is incomplete AND MUST THEREFORE BE DISCARDED.”
