So much has been said, without a single word spoken. Perfect scene.

This scene just proves why Damien Chazelle is such a master filmmaker. It’s very rare to see a director pull off an ending like this. That’s way most of the time endings are gigantic spectacles. Although when a quite scene like this is done just right, you’ll remember it forever. This movie is so under appreciated.

This film just straight up broke me. Never has a work of cinema pierced my heart and stirred my soul the way First Man did. Justin Hurwitz and Damien Chazelle created a beautuful intimate refelection on love and loss in the context of humanity's biggest achievement and they deserve so much more love than they got

She's just so happy to see him alive. Emotions sometimes speak louder than words.

Love this ending, but I think it may be a little more sad than some people think. I felt like this scene was showing that even though he made it to the moon and back and had his cathartic moment, there was still a disconnect between him and Janet. He's literally isolated in quarantine and separated from her by a physical barrier. But also an emotional barrier, as evident when she placed her hands on the glass but never actually made contact with his hands. And the great final shot kind of shows this all at once ; it's almost as if she's reaching out to him but cannot quite get to him. Very powerful.

This shit made me cry ugly tears. What a stunning note to end a movie on.

Watching this I realised that all of Damien chazelles movies end in the same way, no words but just a silent acknowledgement, and it gets hit out of the park every time

This scene really got me.
I find it one of the most beautiful scene, might come across awkward to some, boring to others, but when you understand the true meaning behind this reunion and what they've been through, it's just so powerful. Some emotions sometimes can't be described and this is one of them when you don't need words to express your feelings...

I think I can understand what Neil and Janet were feeling at that right moment. Because my father had a shipwreck and some men died and for some time nobody could know if he was alive or not. And when at the end he was localized and was resqued so many, too many, feelings were there... that it was impossible to talk. My mom was incredibly happy and grateful to God and to all the people who work so hard to save his life, risking their own, and at the same time was incredibly angy, because he was making us all living that knightmare and being so worry... (think what Janet must have been living during that week, and also before!). I mean, I hope you can understand what I mean. What I wanted to say is that there are so many things you're going through and it is not easy... it's quite impossible to say a thing. The only thing my mom said to my father while she was hugging him was: promise me it's the last time!!! This movie, this part of the movie, is so great because it's able to depict what it happened to us. And I think that, maybe, this was exactly what happened that day between Neil and Janet.

La La Land might have been overrated, but First Man is CRIMINALLY underrated. Cant below it went under the rader of so many people.

I think this film asks a similar question as La La Land does. The best films leave you with a question. La La Lands was, "You can accomplish your dreams, but at what cost?" This one left with the question of, "You did the impossible. But at what cost? Now what?"
