You think Scotty’s 1994 Toyota Celica with over 230k miles is impressive? Well the new standard for reliability is his 30 year old pawn shop compressor.

Two tools you must never go cheap are jacks and jack stands.

I have a air compressor that belonged to my grandfather, he made a lot of money working on model T fords. It has two cylinders, original motor and about a 60 gal tank and still runs like a clock.

I bought my first socket set when I was 11 to work on my bike and go-kart. It was an SK Wayne set. I still have the whole set and I am 64 now. On the other hand, I have the same Craftsman spark plug wrench you showed and had it replaced free by Sears 3 times. The only socket I ever broke was a Craftsman deep socket also replaced by Sears. I have allot of cheap tools and they serve their purpose well but I'm not a Professional mechanic.

My uncle was a water well driller and he had one of the biggest collection of tools I've ever seen. I asked him where he got them and he said flea markets. It amazing the stuff you can find there.

I have gotten some awesome deals at Lowe's and Home Depot and they do the job! And I will not share or loan tools. Always comes back broke or doesn't come back at all! There isn't any pawn shops close to where I live so flea markets is the place to buy used tools. Many times even Snap-On hand tools are available.
