Kia and Hyundai have finally released a new infotainment system software update (it was delayed a few months) and started pushing it via OTA to vehicles. It should be available to download and install via usb very soon. Since we had to wait, it is full of big updates right? Unfortunately no. Check out the video and let me know what you think!

Customers: We just want a manual preconditioning button!

KIA: Best I can do is Sports app no one will use.

As someone who has both an EV6 and a Tesla model Y, these are just so, so lame. The disparity between the scope and quality of software updates on my two vehicles is wild.

Kia seems to just be stuck in legacy auto mode with the idea that if you want improvements you better buy the next model year.

It's not useless, I actually use the Factory Nav very frequently so it's good. I use Android Auto as well, but as connectivity is sometimes unreliable, I resort to the Factory Nav, which is the best factory Nav I've used.

Have 22 EV6 since March of 22. One of the changes I noticed is in climate control. Now it actually adjusts fan speeds down once temperature has been reached.

They could at least update the lousy generic car icon to show an EV6 on the infotainment !

Hello Jeff, I think the new update is an absolute step backwards because of the audio. I always had my radio at level 6 and T-Box sound at level 15 (since Bluetooth or T-Box was always quieter). That was perfect, when I switched from T-Box Audio to radio, I always had the right volume. Since the update I've only had one volume for all, which means when I switch from Bluetooth to radio it blows my ears away. And I didn't find an option to have this function again or do you know something? Thanks in advance.

Wish you would have mentioned how some users (like me) ran into a bug that caused the sports feature not to work while complaining about needing Kia Connect (which I have the Ultimate version). Very frustrating.

The latest update on my GV60 that added wireless CarPlay sadly killed functionality of my Carlinkit Tbox Plus 😢 it no longer boots properly. Hopefully Carlinkit adds a fix for it.

The Canadian kia update webpage now says download in October. My latest version is dated 231215 (December 15) the October 2023 update was not compatible with my 2022 ev6 gt-line 2. I learned that the US and Canadian updates are basically the same. So I think there is more to come in October, or November... 😂

We have been told that it doesn't have the hardware but I have an EV9 now and wireless Android Auto is great but burns through battery.

i thought they updated the navigation with proper SOC on destination, removed the annoying message that tells you that you are not going to make it on your destination.

You don’t have the new seat warmer and cooling screen? That’s the only thing I’ve seen that I actually want

The UK updated in August and all I can see is different is they have removed SoundHound integration. We already had the sports bit in the UK and if you ask me a massive gimmick you get highlights through radio or phone 😂😂

It may be a false hope but considering my Ioniq 6 has a hotspot option I hope some day to get wireless carplay/auto.

Still waiting for the head unit/ACP split screen. Radio display is abysmal. (EV9 GT-Line)

This is confusing. I was really excited to see this post! Today (9/7) I downloaded the "latest" update from Hyundai and it is identical to the one released on June 21, 2024. So, not new at all.  Also, the last map/nav update was 12 October 2023, so not very current on that either. Basically the maps are nearly a year old and the UI is three months old. Hyundai needs to do better for its legacy customers.
