Crazy how far Tesla has come, this Porsche is not beat by the electric torque and low end speed, no they are pretty even here. It is the top end and trap speed were the Tesla Model X Plaid is walking the Porsche, just amazing!

Porsche fanboy all the way over here, I might be biased, but I'm actually really surprised that the Plaid won in top-end speed and not on the launch. EVs aren't known for their high-end pull, the fact that it's over 15 MPH faster through the trap is crazy.
On the other hand though, seeing an ICE car match an EV launch is also still nuts. It looks like the video is sped up but only for the Turbo S.

I’m a Tesla fan, and I’m blown away by how powerful a PLAID is. However, I’m also amazed by how well the Porsche was able to keep up.

Both these cars are ridiculously fast and complete beasts! The fact that a 6 seater 6000 pound SUV can beat a top of the line Porsche is astonishing. The Porsche 911 Turbo S is no joke, it is one of the fastest production cars in the world.

This is BS! I’ve watched countless videos of the 911 running 1/4 miles anywhere from 9.9-10.1. The only thing I can come up with is this driver doesn’t know what he is doing.

Some perspective here - put side-by-side, on the street or on a track day, there obviously is no comparison for either prestige or presence.
Porsche has proved itself over decades of motorsport to make some of the world's best sports and luxury cars.
I suspect Plaid exists mainly to get your attention and get headlines for Tesla. I can't think of a lot of reasons (apart from the marketing stunt aspect) why any manufacturer would want to put a 1000hp SUV into the hands of average consumers. I feel the same way about the Dodge Ram TRX: a basically pointless exercise in terms of making a useful truck, with the byproduct of putting a massively overpowered vehicle into the hands of average consumers.
As far as cachet goes, the Porsches are climbing in value and are universally revered as driver's cars; Porsche has said that they will keep the 911 as ICE for the foreseeable future, but expect a hybrid version to come out. THAT vehicle, most likely, would be designed with some kind of 'drag strip' mode for ultra quick launches.
I believe Dodge will discontinue the Hellcat ICE and move to an EV version in the next iteration - expect that vehicle to satisfy the drag strip war requirements, while not looking like an overturned washbasin. :)

I am not a person who has the money for either of these, I personally own a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. But if I had the money for these I would still go with the Miata. I respect and love how far both these companies have come, but the Porsche in 17 or so years will have more technology problems then my old I-Phone. And the Tesla is like a phone, when it’s new it’s groundbreaking and amazing. But then a new version is made and the old one is almost gone in everyone’s mind.

Sadly, Porsche 911 is not the drag race benchmark car now. That's why you can't find drag race between Tesla Plaid and stock Turbo S in carwow channel.

At the 1/2 mile or mile mark the Tesla would be so far behind you wouldnt even see it. It completely taps out once it gets to 130mph or so. And after about 5-10 runs the batteries would be spontaneously combusting and practically in limp mode.

992 Turbo S should be trapping > 130 stock. Makes no sense. Give it a tune and traps over 140.
