I had one of these as a kid. The attention to detail by Kenner was great, especially on the inside of Yoda's hut.

I had this, but no luke or yoda figures to go with it.. my folks just didn't understand. I remember being facinated by all the sculpted leaves and sticks on the base... there's a snake in there too, if you look.


Eventually, I used the stump hut for my hamster, who lived in it for a couple years. I could kick my self, but.. his name WAS Yoda, so..

You can pick up replacement 'swamp' foam at any hardware store; just cut it to size of the pit, 'X' it out in the centre and paint!

Just replaced my swamp. Found black packing material that was very spongelike, but firm. Cleaned my old sticky leftover swamp material with orange oil cleaner. This cleaner also lubricated the pegs that hold the swamp sponge. Then carefully prying apart the pegs from the base, I disassembled. Cut to thickness, lenth and width, I fit my new swamp. Then reset the pegs to the base. I cut the material installed, the perminantly fit an R2D2 for display. Looks great.

I've found that the Artoo adaptor works better when not placed on the pin via the center hole, but via the recess around the center.

never had this set luke, i think i'd fix the foam part if i did though just to make it like new! great review as always mate! cool toy!

Had the same problem with the swamp. The foam simply wasn't made to last for decades. But it doesn't seem like something that is too hard to replace because there are shops that sell the same kind of foam inserts for couch cushions. Hardest part would be finding foam in a dark brown color.

If it was just a bit bigger, and the stand that goes in the cave could go all the way through for Yoda to use, this would have been the best playset. Well maybe second to the Palitoy Deathstar.

Actually a great review. I am missing the cylinder, but I did not know what it was actually for other then just more stuff to float. The foam is simple to make for display. Toy Pilloi has a good video about replacing the foam.
