You were ALWAYS more important than the drugs and alcohol. I went through the same with one of my parents and felt the same and then got older and realized, some people just suck at being parents. But being a world champion that has tons of fans that love and support you is much more important. Hope anybody that goes through this knows you are important. Dont ever let a parent's negative actions determine how you feel about you. Just become the parent you wanted when you have kids one day.

I'm a new father of 2, soon to be 3 God willing. I've watched this on repeat to drill this message into my head that my son will never speak of me like this. Its incredible the pain and suffering of people can help others to wake up to their own demons, powerful message 😢

I forgave my dad for doing the same. But he did provide and always came home after getting drunk. I use to wait by the window scared every night waiting for my dad to die out there being drunk in the streets. He ruined every holiday and birthday always an embarrassment. I told him all this and he blammed my mother cheating him in the past. I understand the bs he carried and why he did but fk that. He stayed with her only to not give us himself fully and punish us for her sins. Lets not hate them though brothers, lets promise to never be them though. ❤

My father chose alcohol over family too and I wish nobody has to go through what a lot of us have been through. Which I know that’s not possible but I pray for everybody that is going through something similar, God bless 🙏
