PM Modi Condemns Targeted Attacks On Hindus In Bangladesh; Call To Muhamad Yunus | Independence Day

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on India's 78th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Bangladesh must ensure the safety and security of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. In a call to Muhammad Yunus, PM Modi said the situation in Bangladesh must be normalised and peace and prosperity must return to the troubled country. Earlier, Bangladesh's former prime minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India after days of nationwide protests.

Bangladesh has to protect Bangladeshis. Even other communities including majority community are clashing on politicised interest. Criminals are exploiting divisive opportunities in all communities to coerce, land-grab and loot. All affected communities should remain strong, organise vigilante squads and save themselves till law and order is restored.
