I was introduced to Cat Stevens in 1973 when I was a freshman at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. A fellow housemate had several of his albums. This surely brings back those first days away from home, on my own for the first time. So unsure, so uncool (I felt), a hick among so many I thought were somehow better. It was a life changing event for me that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I didn’t think so at the time but the music of those early 70’s opened my eyes and heart to the wide, wonderful world. Seals and Crofts, CSN&Y, Renaissance, Yes, Grand Funk Railroad, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Mott the Hoople, Steely Dan, Jim Croce, ELP, Uriah Heep, REO, and others. I don’t know that we’ll ever see a time of meaningful music like that again. Thank you for those memories.

I remember watching my mom when I was real young sitting in front of the window, drawing with a tear in her eye listening to this... Then when I got a little older I remember watching her do her makeup listening to this... Then when I had my first daughter and my mother baby Sat her for the first time, I came to pick her up to find my mother and daughter sound asleep while this was playing in the background. Now I'm older and I find myself listening to this often and think to myself (I bet my daughters see the same thing I did when I was younger) such a wonderful artist❤
