Показать описание
Excerpt from the 45-minute music documentary "John Parr – Acoustic Fever" featuring Bobby Kimball (ex-Toto), Herman Rarebell (ex-Scorpions), and Jose Antonio Rodriguez. A brief John Parr interview gives you insights into the creation of the anthem "St. Elmo's Fire," and you’ll also hear its performance adapted for an acoustic setup. The video was recorded after the "Acoustic Fever Tour 2014" and released in 2020.
In addition to interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, you can also watch the performance of "Hold The Line," which has also been adapted for an acoustic setup. What a combination of musicians! A once-in-a-lifetime lineup.
The excellent track "Naughty Naughty" was John Parr’s first major hit on the U.S. Top 40 chart in 1985. During that year, he toured with his band, The Business, as the opening act for TOTO. At the end of this tour, producer David Foster offered him the opportunity to write the main theme song for the film St. Elmo's Fire. This catchy rock song became a worldwide hit, earning John a Grammy nomination.
"St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" was the theme song for Rick Hanson’s "Man in Motion World Tour" in 1985. Rick sustained a spinal cord injury and became a paraplegic. He traveled around the world in a wheelchair to raise funds for charity.
John Parr also wrote "Under the Raging Moon" for Roger Daltrey and worked as a producer with artists like Marilyn Martin, Meat Loaf, and Tom Jones. He wrote songs for several blockbuster movies, such as "The Minute I Saw You" (Three Men and a Baby soundtrack) and "Restless Heart" (Running Man soundtrack). He shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the music business, including Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, Toto, Heart, Foreigner, Bonnie Tyler, Richard Marx, and Journey.
