I feel sorry for anyone who can take this man seriously

So his argument is someone is eventually gonna get stuck holding the bag of a worthless home about to fall into the sea. Nailed it, Ben! 🙄

“It’s a straw man”
How?
He then immediately just says he was wrong without admitting it and then follows it up by talking about a tsunami a literal double straw man, he’s lying about what he said.

Ben makes no sense. Best case he's just time-shifting the same problem into the future. He's ignoring that 25% of the Earth's population lives in flood zones. Also ignores that climate change is causing other places to simultaneously become unlivable in different ways.

It's fascinating how well Ben knows the meme while STILL not actually understanding it

So Ben calls the meme a strawman, while simultaneously strawmanning those that have used the meme.... yep that sure checks out.

"Prices tend to fall"

Assuming someone is going to buy that in the first place...

So, unless you're rich, you either:
a) successfully sell your house for cheap and you can't afford one in a safer area so you become one of the millions of displaced people without a home.
b) fail to sell your house so you abandon it and you can't afford one in a safer area so you become one of the millions of displaced people without a home.
I mean, yeah, people are resilient, many will probably survive this, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a huge problem. Just because something is survivable doesn't mean is desirable.

I see no way that destroying a bunch of housing stock could have any long-term consequences for society.

Ben knows that he is wrong. He evades it.

It makes so much sense now that he explained it:
He never implied you would have to sell your house to Aquaman,
You'd sell your house to Aquaman AFTER 50 years. Duh.

As people adapt by moving to different areas Ben Shapiro will simply become anti-immigration

The problem was not that nobody would buy the house that was in flood risk. The problem was that anyone who bought it would have the same fucking problem. Selling the house to someone else solves nothing it just gives the problem to someone poorer who will die instead of you.

Did bro just try to defend himself by explaining how he was wrong without admitting he was wrong 💀

Ben feels that global warming isn't serious. However, the facts say we're in big trouble, and the facts don't care about your feelings.

houses are falling into the ocean RIGHT NOW and beach front property is still sky high in value. what will really happen is the beaches move inland and beach front property continues being extremely expensive because of the required upkeep. the value only depreciates on the homes that actually go underwater, which no one will buy. not even going to touch the knock-on economic effects of entire neighbourhoods being displaced.
