I'm 33 and want to actually build my own home before age 40. I also want to own the land I build my house on. It may be a little ambitious, but I believe I can do it.

Also a tip for a lot of you look in the areas your interested in living in to see how many individuals OWN a home, and how many rent. You might be able to make good money and live there, buuut might never make enough to own a home. Renting is great but personally I wouldn’t want to rent my whole life. Just a thought!

I'm 27, graduating next year in late fall, and I really want my own home. One that I've bought!!

I live in NYC and it's waaaay too expensive here :( but with my major (Graphic Designer/Animator/3D Artist) there's a lot of jobs here and in CA, WA and Texas....

So I'm feeling conflicted!

Im feeling discouraged. I can't believe how cheap homes are in the US. I see these renovation shows talking about 100k and under homes. I live in Canada and I can't get a detached home for less than 300k. I'm not even in one of the most expensive cities either. Attached starter homes begin in the mid 200k range. It's really disheartening because I want to live here but it feels like I'll never be able to buy.
