Latte Art is easy once you perfect frothing. Frothing the milk to create the perfect texture and consistency to not create too much foam or too little is what you have to perfect first. Notice right when he pours the milk? No foam, the milk is watery, drops and sinks right under the coffee. As he pours, this liquid consistency no longer is watery, and it becomes creamy and foamy which floats to the top. You have to practice the balance of when this floating of the cream happens. You also have to practice the distance of the froth cup to coffee cup (if cream drops from high distance it will also sink and create vacuum), also practice timing of when cream happens. You also have to make sure you don’t put too much coffee, your cup will overflow before you complete the art. Notice here barely any coffee? Practice frothing is fundamental. I am VERY surprised, so many videos out there teaching how to create art before how to froth milk properly. That’s like teaching a student how to drift before teaching how to drive.

In my opinion and experience, I am able to pour more stacks when you do the following: 1) tilt the cup towards you as much as possible (more than what is shown in this video) in order to settle the base with less milk to have more room for additional milk foam. 2) pour small quantity of milk towards the back of the cup 3) position the milk pitcher jug as close as possible to the cup and keep on pushing out milk foam one after the other like a dolphin lulz” I hope this helps.

I just don't have a steady enough hand to keep a constant flow when doing latte art.
I will never be able to do it 💀😭

I don't even work in a café nor drink coffee but I keep watching these shorts because they are fascinating! I love the patterns on top!

In addition to properly whipped milk, the texture of the drink plays an important role. For example, cocoa and matcha have a denser texture, due to this, it is easier to train latte art on these drinks and it is more likely to get a beautiful pattern.
Add thick syrup to the espresso. Or use coffee with a denser texture. Also use wider cups. In tall cups, it is more difficult to choose the angle of infusion.

Though the first trick is to steam your milk in such a way that it is becoming silky milk instead of foamy milk. Which I don’t managed yet with my new Quickmill machine :((

High and fast, then low and slow!! Very useful tip is to steam and pour out some milk - and as it pours into the sink, watch and take note of what the stream looks like.

Where does the stream break apart into big droplets? Where is it like a smooth and silky stream? Use this observation to tell you how high to start your pour. Aim for the deepest point in the espresso. Letting the milk stream hit the espresso where it becomes a smooth stream and lightly swirling the mug with your other hand will create a much more uniform backdrop to start your art on.

Then when you have a nice base, tilt your mug until the espresso is almost to the edge. And lower your milk pitcher until it kisses the mug and slowly pour your art- tilting the mug away from pitcher very slightly so the espresso stays close to the edge but doesn’t spill.

This is a useful video, thanks! I will say it would be better if you did not slow down the footage, because it makes it unclear as to how fast to pour.

“Easily get you 10 to 15 layers”. Right, I can’t even get my first layer 😂

I really don’t care what it looks like. However, I enjoy watching other people do this…

You did this on a Breville barista pro?

I’m not seeing the white layer appear until the very end and then there is just a big white blob :( I’ve been at it for weeks and haven’t improved lol
