Chennedy Carter’s WNBA Comeback: How she got a second chance with the Chicago Sky

Per the Chicago Sky press release:
The Chicago Sky announced today the team has signed guard Chennedy Carter to a training camp contract.

Carter was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by Atlanta. She was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team after averaging 17.4 points and 3.4 assists in 16 games (all starts) for the Dream. She averaged 14.2 points the following year in Atlanta before being acquired by Los Angeles in 2022. In 51 career games, including 29 starts, Carter averaged 12.7 points and 2.7 assists.

Looking back on this video now that the season is in full swing, she was horribly misused & abused by my Atlanta Dream, she is more than good enough to be a starter, some of these coaches don't know how to use her skillset. I'm glad there is another team where she can showcase!!

Very smart signing for Chicago. The question will always be locker room related. When Chennedy is the Queen Bee (HS, College, overseas) she is amazing. I really hope she can learn to become a team player, she is too talented not to be in the league. Huge upside and I really hope it works, I love watching her play. I remember Chennedy vs Arike, that was fun to watch. Although I have become less impressed with Arike, when her shot is off, instead of finding the hot hand (usually Satou), she just keeps shooting. I admittedly just became aware of Carter this year. She's a certified bucket getter and fits perfectly w/AR & Cardo. Great signing by T-Spoon!

I agree a Rickea/Reese draft would've been great but I like what we're building. Keep filling out the roster and this team can go far.

I LOVE Chennedy. She is SO misunderstood.... Courtney Williams is a royal pain in the azz. She flat out said no newbie should come in and not pay their dues, which is tantamount to "I RUN THIS, BE STILL CARTER & SIT IN MY SHADOW". Anytime someone has an issue with CW, they end up getting traded. 3ppl she's had issues with (all Scorpios by the way) so Imma blame childish, always-wanna-be-in-the-spotlight, attention - seeking CW. Chennedy is actually a silent, confident introvert but you can't push her around, plain and simple. If ever there's an issue and CWs in it, IT'S LIKELY HER FAULT.
