Trying to detox here. It makes me look like the bad guy.
I just can’t bring myself to interact with spouse at all right now. Although I don’t like playing games- looks like I’m stonewalling.
My heart just can’t take more nonsense right now. It’s heavy as I mourn my mothers death and spouse pulled some more of his nonsense at this time. Making a major purchase without discussion that pulled us out of financial freedoms we took over 3 decades to reach. I’m so tired and sad.

Get away from these people and stay away,

I used gray rock disengage strategy and it absolutely works, individual I was dealing with started stealing just about everything they could get their hands on in an attempt to force me to engage,
I ignored the petty, and not so petty thefts,
(Cost of maintaining sanity)

Now have completely cut this individual out of my life,

Guess what this character is doing now?

Calling me a narcissist!

Lol.

Get away completely and don't look back 😊

“Poison” by its very nature is corrosive. The swampland has a lot of poison so I don’t listen to their toxic waste. A truly malignant conglomeration which has no intentions of changing, hence— “the blob” ~Mike Gill (well put sir)

Great advice as always! For me, my greatest weakness (as I've recently discovered) is that I don't pay attention (or fully trust) my instincts. In a recent situation, I remember thinking from the jump, "This person reminds me too much of so and so" but put it down to, "I'm over thinking it" - but I wasn't overthinking - it was kind of like subtle warnings that I didn't take seriously. Fast forward one year, I'm out of that group (others left before me) and feel more myself - I'm shaking it off and feel much lighter/happier and going in a different direction. The manipulation was there as was the passive aggressive behavior.

Even when it's presented to you in sugar coated form it's still poison. Although most of the time they don't even bother with the sugar coating.

Thank you for this info. I really needed this right now. Figuring out how to care for my mental health during this has been so hard. I sometimes feel so much guilt for disengaging from the relationship, especially with it being my marriage. But this reminds me that it is okay and sometimes necessary to protect myself.

Sibling has gone silent for 14 months sitting on Mom’s property. Mom is bewildered why he’s got cob you know where. He wants to be in control about everything and he didn’t get assigned to it. Pout time!
So we all will just sit it out and enjoy life. When time comes to the have to stage, we’ll go Legal. That’s what mom wants. She wrote it. Son won’t honor her.
What kind of person does this?
I wonder of advice along the way dealing with a person that Dr. C just described. Toxic people are so hard to be around. Don’t even want to ever have to approach him ever again.
How do you divorce a sibling? Boundaries! Think I’ll send the list of boundaries as we get Moms affairs taken care of. As she wishes to be done.

Stay steady!

TOXIC: lacking SPIRIT OF GO(O)D thoughts and OTHER CENTEREDNESS. (and there is NOTHING that can be done, but if one is able to ENDURE and 'suffer it' and 'offer
up' (at altar aka church worship) ONE will gain A GRACED STRENGTH that is HIS PRESENCE. (Pick up the cross of this world as it is, pray and offer up at altar FOR
such souls, and never be alone with such ... make sure there are others present when in company of such souls)

The incremental toxicity over 5+ years has taken years to detox. Being here to learn and understand has been a great factor in that.

While it may seem that a "Meet fire with fire" approach may work with a Narcissistic individual, don't buy into that mindset. It's like the old adage: "It's like you are drinking the poison in hopes of harming them!"
They live for that!! Stop the game at the start. Pivot to the Healthy side of life! See you there! 😉

They always flip it around. If you try to stand up to them, they distance themselves from you and make you out to be the problem.

I've known my Ex husband the narcissist for over 50 years and I have never been able to get through to him; he has no accountability, no emotional empathy and would never compromise. I'm happy to say that we've been separated for 11 years.

As the video note says, their toxicity is infectious. It's essential to keep social distancing with them forever. 😷
