Yesss... That's exactly the reason that all of everybody who's watched BB seems to forget- That Walt really loved Jesse- and maybe a bit more than he should've just that.. Till the last second, after every manipulative, realistic crap in Walt's character and brain, after Skyler and Soul's demands and persuasion, he still didn't give up on Jesse. He still tried to find a way to fix the rift between them. And even after Jesse gave him up to Hank, it wasn't the cold headed, calculated steps in the the best regards of his and his family's interest as much a raw, devastating respond to his disappointment and hurt about what he supposed to be Jesse's betrayment- that made him finally call the shot on Jesse's murder.
