BYD ROCKS 😎 but they definitely need a new guy to name these EV's. 😄 Great electric models coming out from BYD & hopefully we'll see these on European roads in the not too distant future. Great stuff guys.🙂

I think the battle ship line will be parallel (but slightly upgraded) to sell with the dynasty line rather than replacement, and the sea animals will be marketed as new platform ev cars

BYD seem to have 1) the older Dynasty architecture shared by PHEV and BEV, and the two newer specialised lines, 2) 'battleship' DM-i/DM-p for PHEV only and 3) 'Ocean' e-Platform 3.0. Product names following underlying architecture rather than when they fit is a mess, and then there are are products that break the rules (yuan plus is Ocean), overlapping models, and then a new mess with international names for the Ocean series being 'Atto x', that is sure to break as more models are added.

Using Huawei for autonomous driving will severely limit their international potential. The worry, even if baseless, will be, that if your country has a dispute with China and OTA update could become dangerous.

Keep up the good work. Don't let lockdown stop you.

They are going to sell well in Australia. We don't have many options here and people are ready.

Regarding those silly "battleship line" names, the correct translation is definitely Cruiser, not Corvette. Corvettes are the smallest class of warships, and in order it goes Corvette, Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, Amphibious Assault Ship (Landing ship that you mentioned), and finally Carrier. So in order of size it would be sedan (Destroyer), SUV (Cruiser), and MPV (Amphibious Assault Ship). A Corvette would be a city car, such as the BYD Dolphin.

And I totally agree with you that it would be a shame if they retired the cool Dynasty names, and replaced them with silly ocean names. I could sort of get behind Dolphin/Seal/Sea Lion, but the warship names are just stupid.

I do not know about Europe, but in Australia BYD's are priced significantly more than they are in China. Which puts their models against different models from other competing electric vehicle companies in the marketplace. It will be interesting to see if that strategy works.

I really like BYD. They've got all the parts necessary to crystallize into an absolute juggernaut. I hope their global expansion helps them raise the perceived quality of the brand.

BYD NEVs are available in the middle East, all over south America, the Carribean, the stans all around China, in India and in China.

USA tariffs BYD at 25%. No problem we will sell our cars all over the world and you can pay $100 a fill up while our customers pay $15 a charge since our cars are not as raw material constrained as the western NMC battery powered vehicles.

cltc is a standard which is more ev friendly and strict for combustion car. It puts more weight on slow speed city driving.

The video of the Han wagon is real, it's an actual vehicle modified from a regular Han.

The rumor that "BYD will be making a Han wagon" is fake, as the project was a 3rd party media stunt and BYD was not involved in any way.
