The compounding thing is so true. I started investing around 30 years of age. I'm now 61. In that time I increased my net worth from 0 to about a million just working in a very basic job and putting away a bit each month. And if anyone asked me how, I'd honestly have to say I'm not sure, it sort of just happened that way. I didn't have any great investment ideas.. It really was just a slow and steady process of compounding.

Institutional investors hold a majority ownership of Berkshire Hathaway through the 68.34% of the outstanding shares that they control. This interest is also higher than at almost any other company in the Multi-Line Insurance industry. So Buffet's statement at the end regarding a majority owned by "the people" instead of institutions, he is misleading the people.
