We make nothing from connecting mask
makers needing work, with people who need masks that can’t make them on their own.

I think it is highly insulting to the women who have prototyped different masks, had to find creative solutions to the complete lack of bias tape and elastic in stores and online, and come up with what I believe is a colorful and quality product to help people meet state mandates that we all wear cloth masks in public.
I put my own life at risk yesterday to go to a store to purchase $300 worth of fabric to send to my mask maker moms. Some people in that store were not wearing masks—that is not okay. Where are they supposed to get masks?

Do you have any idea what goes into making a mask? You have to have quality sewing equipment that works, extra needles, a walking presser foot, a rotary cutter, a quilters square to press fabric strips into binding tape, thread, bobbins, foldover elastic....etc.

It took me an entire day to produce my first mask. The next day, I made three as I developed various prototypes.

My mask makers also had to ramp up and figure out how to produce quality cloth masks. They invested considerable time and supplies.

But they are willing to do it because we all want anyone that wants protection to be able to get it. In my video I mentioned how to find a pattern online if you’re a seamstress, but many do not have that skill or wish to dedicate an entire day to learning mask making.

You should be ashamed of minimizing the hard work, ingenuity, and dedication of my mask makers.

Thanks Jessica. At my shop customers put the phones or tablets in a UV light box before we ever handle it even with gloves. Stay safe!!!

I’m confused, so your government classes mobile phone repair as essential business but you’re having to fight the mobile phone companies for the right to repair 🤔

Just found and watched Louis's "In defense of my friend." video. I'm going to order a mask because I need one and I don't know how to sew to make one myself. I have some winter neck cover things, but they weren't working well. They'd keep slipping off my nose and then I'd have to stop in the middle of a store to put it back on - touching my face in the process, which I'm not supposed to be doing until I can wash or sanitize my hands. Thank you for helping provide this public service so I don't have to pay scalpers on eBay or Amazon for a mask.

@iPad Rehab could you please link me to the paper where they tested this SARS-2 on different surfaces? I searched on the NEJM website but couldn't find it. Maybe the title isn't very indicative (for me). Anyways, thank you in advance!

Pretty soon you won't be able to enter a bank if you _don't_ wear a mask.

For home schooling, I suggest the following older books. Wish I'd had them when I was in school. One thing the schools won't teach is how to study.

How to Study and Teaching How to Study (1909) by F. M. McMurry, Professor of Elementary Education, Teachers College, Columbia University

Freshman Rhetoric, John Rothwell Slater, Ph.D. Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature in the University of Rochester, (1913)
Chapter 5 in the 1913 edition is excellent for learning notetaking

Hi Jessa! I was inspired by Louis Rossmann's video on how you were criticized by some guy for making face masks. So first of all I would like to express my appreciation for your effort against the coronavirus. Secondly, I would like to ask you if you have some sort of manual for making these masks, and if you'd be willing to share it.

My girlfriend is looking into making masks herself, because they're not available in stores, and she does need them. Her granddad had lung cancer surgery today, so she wants to help her grandparents around the house. But she would also like to not infect them with coronavirus, so she would like to wear a mask and gloves when she visits them. So if you'd be willing to share any tips on making these masks, we would be eternally grateful.

Now I have a use for my green martian Halloween costume from college in 1975. I can hire out as a green screen stage hand or ghost. The green face paint was messy. Those green tights have been my cold snow ski under layer a few times and still fit.

When this first started with Jessa sitting there with the mask on, I was waiting for Bane's voice. It was a bit odd when Jessa's nice mom voice came out.

You are taking this social distancing to another level compared to Louis.

Jessa, as someone who worked in a biolab you should be familiar with the standard Biohazard levels. According the CDC, USAMRID, and everyone else, this is a Level4 hazard. Same as SARS and Ebola, just a lower death rate. We're playing with Level2, which is about all the public can do. But if the public knew this, they just might take it more seriously.

Most American suburban homes are 1/4 acre or less. 1/5 to 1/6 acre is common today. Try to find a 1 acre home. Scarcer than hens teeth.

My job is 99% done via computer, I could literally not move from my computer entire working hours, everything I do I could do from home. But my boss thinks this is just a flu and that people are just exaggerating, so entire company of 150+ peopel has to come to company offices/production most of workers do not wear any protection, we did receive 1 mask and 0 gloves, furthermore, boss decided not to pay us this month on time because he is expecting that government will adopt a regulation to help companies based on number of employed workers and amount of money he paid this month as a salaries (it's a bit complicated to explain), so he is waiting that regulation and does not want to pay us ...
