Is it EVEN BETTER now?? MG Australia has MODIFIED the MG 4 XPower! (MG4 review)

preview_player
Показать описание

MG Australia has modified the already manic MG 4 XPower electric hatchback, which has a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds. And now, it feels fast to drive in corners, too.

That's because the brand has swapped out the springs and wheels, added a sporty body kit and made this a more desirable EV hot hatch.

But is it something you'd buy? The brand is after YOUR FEEDBACK, so make sure you comment below.

Mate, I love your videos. Just love them. I love that you're a humble Aussie bloke with a flat cap and slightly sticky-outy ears, you love what you're doing, you know what you're talking about, and you're generally the kind of bloke that other blokes would like to have a beer with. Keep up the good work! :)

Imagine how much fuel you would use to get this level of performance in a petrol powered car.

I had my MG4 Xpower for 6 months now. I'm really really happy with it. I replaced my wheels with a 19inch. It's even better to drive. I had no problems with the car.

Was looking at the mgs, but just picked up last week a brand new Suzuki swift 2024 gl plus for 25k with 8ks on the clock. 🔥🤘
Mg seems to be selling well just not sure on long term reliability.
Great vid man keep up the great work. 👍

Turning off everything is a pain. I have to tap ten times before my MG4 is ready to roll every time. I need one favourites setting.

would be interested if these updates might be available to mod onto the standard version xpower?

I drove my friends X power for an hour mixed roads mainly fast driving! until you have driven one you won’t understand how fast they are and I’m someone who has had fast cars for over 30years inc a litchfield type 25! The MG is a real hoot try one 👍

Finally, someone else sees the reason I bought the Xpower. It copped a bad wrap for not being more luxurious, or having the same features as more expensive siblings. one thing however, MG need to help customers with the dreaded highway vibration, me included. happening for a year now with no fix and a lot of promises. Newer 24 models are not seeing the issue.

Got the springs ready to fit into my xpower. Can’t wait, looks so much better.

I think they should offer the xpower with the 77kwh battery. But I think that looks good.

Little weapon! Seriously considering one. Was looking at a new WRX for a runabout but wifey hassling about and EV - perfect compromise! HAHAHA (The front lift issue could be solved with the old Whiteline Anti-Lift kit we used to fit into WRX's back in the day! Best bang for your buck mod back then.)

I understand the RWD version has more engaging handling, than the X-Power.
I wonder how that would feel with similar spring (and damper) mods, and some performance tyres, possibly better brake pads?
And will the aftermarket start to offer 'chip-tuning' for EV's?
Can electric motors be tuned for different power and torque outputs, and can the regeneration system be altered?

Thanks for the video, in my humble opinion, MG needs to upgrade the MG4 powertrain cooling system and upgrade the stock braking system. the front splitter is ok, but the side and rear body kit are not required in my humble opinion

MG’s GM (Lu Jiajun) confirmed to UK media that the MG4 is getting a major interior refresh in late 2024. Any news on when Australia will get that?

Perhaps they can offer this more focused MG4 XPower once the refresh has arrived?

Yes please. I come from an i30N but stopped short of buying this because it doesn't compare around the corners. This will be good

The exterior looks great. A extra $5k would be enough.

Looks great. Definitely think they should offer this option.
