PLEASE NOTE THIS VIDEO WAS FILMED MID MARCH BEFORE THE PARK CLOSURES AND CROWN LAND CAMPING CLOSURES. THE TRIP I'M REFERRING TO IN THE VIDEO, WAS DONE A MONTH AGO AND IS NOT UPCOMING.

While packing for a solo backpacking backcountry cold camping trip, a month ago, I decided to make a video. A few people have suggested wanting to see what I bring on a trip such as this, and although I am not an expert in any way, I thought I'd oblige. I ended up removing the fishing knife as it was overkill and did end up being able to attach the Therm-a-Rest Ridgerest to the bottom of my pack. For that reason, I did not bring my camp chair and it ended up being a good thing as the ground I ended up camping on, would not have supported a chair as it was on a slope. I have listed all main gear items below for further information. I hope you enjoy the video and if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to comment below or contact me. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

Although I’ve never tried this yet .... supposedly you can dehydrate normal toothpaste. Make a strip or blob of how much you normally use on a dehydrator sheet & dry it. Use just like those crush tabs, chew on it then brush away.

I love winter hot tenting! I’m not a fan of doing the transition from winter to spring camping. Nights are colder lol. FYI, 5:31 Pocket Bellows.

Christina. It amazes me how neatly you can lay out your gear for these videos... when I try that it never looks tidy like yours... Must be a guy thing... Stay Safe and Healthy...Dennis

Laying it all out helps, I normally do that, but on my last trip I didn't. A couple weeks ago I did a solo easy in/out kayak camping trip, planned for 2 or 3 nights, cut it to 1 because of weather and my screw up. I forgot to bring my tent poles... Very interesting trying to set a tent up without the poles. Made it work, but not great. Thanks for the reminder to lay out what you are bringing and to go over to make sure you are not missing anything essential.

Hello Christina, greetings from Northern California. It is good to see you again. You are certainly well organized, very impressive. Do you have two sherpas to accompany you? That is a lot of gear. I hope that you are staying safe and healthy. All the best of good things for you. 🤗

Always good to see the choices explained. I usually have items that I'm sure I will use but don't, but am not smart enough to not take them next time... "just in case"

Hello Christina, great video, always good to see what other people carry. Any idea of how much this pack weighed after you put it all together? And what size is your backpack?

gotta love the old 'lighter in the sports bra' trick. ;-)

If you are all wondering, I use those crush and brush tabs everyday :) just crunch in your teeth and brush away.

Is that a 120L pack? Any issues with water getting in to the tent? Do you put the ground cloth inside or out? I love all of the blades involved for 1 night, and of course the lighter in the sports bra trick! I have the massive Silky Big Boy saw. Seriously it's obscene unless a person needs to clear a portage.
