Which feature is your favorite?

1. FIREPLACE SURROUND: One of my favorite things in our old house is the fireplace with the original marble surround. The colors are rich and beautiful, and they’ve become colors I use elsewhere around my home. Plus a diffuser looks (and smells) great up on the mantel!

2. OLD BANISTER: Although common in old homes, it’s hard to beat the charm of our old banister. From seeing my kids cling tight, as they tried to master the steps, to trimming it with garland during the holidays, it will always hold lots of memories.

3. SUN PORCH: Our sun porch is my favorite place to work in the spring and summer months. It’s tough to beat the sunshine streaming in and the sound of birds serenading!

4. ORIGINAL MAIL SLOT: This one hasn’t changed much since our house was built. I love the sound of the creaky door when I check the mail each day!

5. BUILT-INS: We have many original built-ins in our house, but the cabinets in our upstairs bath are especially terrific. The extra storage space is so handy.
