How To Make a DIY Camera Dolly for Cheap

In this video I show how I put together a home made camera dolly, ideal for DSLR video, Parts used are steel bar, skateboard trucks, rollerblade wheels, hockey puck, nuts, bolts and washers.

The heavier duty tripod head I use is the Manfrotto 804RC2, and the smaller one is Joby gorilla pod head.

In this video I demonstrate with a Canon 60D dslr with a 28mm F1.8 lens.

A camera dolly like this can in some cases be a good alternative to a camera slider track.

And now you can build your own rig, hope this helped you come up with a good custom designed dolly that will work for you!

clever mod to truck hadn't thought of doing that look like pretty decent wheels
if you could add narrow rectangle weights on that would gain more stability slower moving shots silky smooth great post

if you want to circle something, you have to align the axles with the object...
