Hey vizeh, as a saints fan this is a really difficult time for everyone who supports the club. I've seen the signs of a difficult period coming from the last couple of years and it is genuinely tragic to watch my club, who were in Europe only 6 years ago, sink to it's lowest in over a decade. A lack of action from the board in the last few years and a serious complacency when it came to managerial choice has sunk my club and I'm very worried about what the future holds for the saints. Fingers crossed we can follow in Burnley's footsteps and tear up the champ next year.
Thanks for covering this as it's really insightful and entertaining even for a saints fan like me, keep up the amazing work man

Still remember the 2014/15 Saints squad under Ronald Koeman.. that devastating attack consisting of Pelle', Mane, Long and Tadic.. a very balanced midfield with players Schniederlin, Wanyama... and a steady defence with Fonte', Clyne, Bertrand.. tearing apart teams with rapid counter attacking football.. they used to be so good in the transfer market as well..
Those glory days to now, when they are an absolute train wreck.. it has gone so wrong for them..

I'm a Saints fan, and I'm genuinely sad to see what has happened to our club over the past 3-4 years. It's been a tale of mismanagement, poor decisions, and lack of willpower that has led us down the road to where we are today.

But we've done it before, and we'll do it again. We'll be back soon enough, so Come on you Saints!

As a Saints fan who travels Home and Away, i’m actually quite excited for the championship. Even if we finish mid table, I’m going to see my teams win more games, i’ll celebrate more goals, and simply have better weekends.
Will also get to visit some new grounds and cities that I haven’t been to before. Tired of going to the same old places in the Premier League.

It just shows how good of a job Hasenhüttl did with that squad.

We could've really built something good with the players we've brought in this season but the poor decisions this club has made have really harmed us

Hi Vizeh. I used to watch your content occassionally when you used to do more of the FIFA videos.
But since shifting to these mini documentary style videos, i am absolutely hooked on. You are improving in each video. Keep it coming and all the best 🙌

Thanks for this video, I’m a Saints fan and yeah multiple years of bottom half inconsistency will lead to relegation. As for the Bednarek situation, yes he should have never said that but he actually is one of the only few players at the club that actually care atm. It’s a shame that his and his teammates’ ability are letting him down

I started watching football regularly around 2013, to me Southampton are supposed to be a relatively high achieving club. Big clubs used to snap up Saints players for fairly high prices, they were a tough team to beat, they attracted good managers and even made it into Europa League. The prem without them is gonna be weird for me.

The key to a bounce back is replicate the past winners formula.
(1) New manager. Get a new manager, new ideas, new image new philosophy.
(2) Retain. Try to retain as much if your best players.
(3) Signings. Sign abroad as its unlikely any current players of quality playing in england will move to a club coming down a league.
(4) Build a structure in Pre-season. It is important to get a side to become cohesive to a tactic and refresh them after a season of losing

Southampton in the past were what Brighton are now. Southampton's relegation this season should serve as a warning to Brighton fans about what could happen to them in the future.

It's a shame that Southampton have struggled with the sustainability and being dependent on few players to keep them afloat this year. I never would have expected them to go down this season.

As a saints fan, this is a wider issue than just the mistakes of 2022/23. It’s the boards fault and the multiple chairman that took over that are to blame. We never replaced players like Lambert, Lallana, Rodriguez, VVD, Fonte (the list is endless). We lost that skill of scouting talent of not just youth but of motivators too! All our problems and consequences have spring from this! The only player who should be praised is JWP but he’ll go now in the cheap to a mediocre club like Villa or West Ham. It’s shocking and devastating to see a club that I fell in love with football with go down. I can’t see us coming back up without a new board and new players. Selles shouldn’t have got the job and we should have gone in for Sean Dyche ages ago. I don’t have much hope for Saints and to be honest this could be the end of a club that use to be a money-ball club before it was cool to be one like Brighton and Brentford are today.

It’s a shame, a shambles and a club that has no sense of management. Chopping and changing managers and owners haven’t helped and no financial backing from owners like Gao Jisheng especially killed this club’s PL status yet at the same time the PL status was the reason why Gao Jisheng bought us in the first place. Never backing managers with funding- making transfers that suited Ralph when we had Jones in (which was the ultimate decision that got us relegated). Never replacing key players and always thinking of profits never helped me not evolving our youth development at the club didn’t help either and most of all- not having any leaders or motivators towards a vision didn’t help.

It’s not a good day for football or Southampton. It’s depressing to see what once was the template to how a club should be run now be the template of how a club shouldn’t be run. I thought in 10 years time from 2012 we would be champions of the Europa league- not relegators to the championship. It’s a really sad day on the south coast but the stormy seas and choppy waters have been coming for years - yet we did nothing and sank deep towards the seabed

Southampton doesn't have a Premier league squad for 2-3 seasons already except JWP, Walker-Peters. It was quite an achievement for Ralph Hasenhüttl to keep this team up without Danny Ings last season already . It was really stupid to sack him this year .

It'll be fun to rebuild them into an absolute unit in FM24 though

Thanks so much for making this video Liam. I'm a saints fan and it's been a really difficult time watching us. Your knowledge about the club is very impressive and this was an excellent coverage. I think we have a Premier League squad that plays as a League 2 team.

You didnt mention a case of Mislav Oršić there. I mean he is the guy that knocked out Tottenham in 19/20 season I think and he isn't even on a bench. It is so sad to look at him being stopped in this club. He is the guy that scored against Chelsea in CL, he is the guy that scored a world-class goal against Morocco for a bronze medal and their coaches are sleeping on him. Such a shame.
