Thank you for this discussion. I am particularly concerned about the changes that have already been expressed and proposed by Pope Francis and the documents coming from the Papal offices. Also the statements and Liturgical options, “Mayan Rite” but no TLM, create great confusion and distress among the Faithful. JOHN 14: 6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” 🙏🏻🕊✝️🕊🙏🏻

Thank you, Bishop Barron, for kindly sharing your experiences and insights from attending the Synod on Synodality, as well as for addressing questions about the structure of the Synod, the role of synodality in church governance, some of the key issues discussed during the sessions of the Synod and some of your concerns. Thank you Matthew for conducting such an interesting interview.

For those who have not read the Final Document that came out from the Synod on Synodality, I suggest that you download it from the Synod’s web site, pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and then not just read it but study it. It is not a trivial endeavor, but it is important.

I'm glad you were able to speak regarding social media at the Synod!

I was born into a Catholic family and was blessed with 12 years of Catholic School.

But after high school, I finished my prep classes for confirmation. After great personal contemplation and prayer, I painfully decided that I did not feel a calling to commit to any religion.

I was always grateful the Catholic church was (somehow!) able to get the teachings of Jesus to me after 2000 years, but the Church's apparent fear/denial of science only fed my skepticism.

Certain events have brought me back, however.

It was an eye-opener to learn that the theory of the Big Bang was introduced by Catholic astrophysicist/priest Georges Lemaître!

I've had a lifelong curiosity about Jesus of Nazareth the man and how the Holy Spirit through Him saved my soul!

YOUR presence on social media, and YOUR explanations of how the Church has reconciled the historical inaccuracies of the Old Testament has restored my faith.

Oh, the church confounds me in so many ways, always has, and I think, will continue to do so . My eyes, heart, are set on Christ .

The church needs to be built up on that rock Foundation and remain consistent. We have to meet people where they're at and let them know why we are just as relative now as we were then. People are still intelligent and they do like and are attracted to the history and the great knowledge that the church has to offer. And there needs to be a change to our history books and scientific journals. Anywhere that fails to list men of God by their title such as father and priest and deacon etc. They have no problem listing Professor PhD or doctors. But they just as deservingly need to be recognized for their belief in God also we all need to be reminded that belief in God has a great deal of influence on our creativity and scientific discovery
