You're finally did it. You joined the real wheel gang. After picking up the crustiest set of Work Euro Line wheels off of facebook marketplace for two hundred sixty one dollars and a ps4, you're in the club. You're finally ready. The next car you see on a set of cast wheels, you're the first one of your boys to say it "DAMN LOOK AT THOSE REPS". Problem is, you just said that about a set of A V S Model 5s, and everyone is laughing at you. We're here to help

What are reps? Rep is short for replica, and the nerds at the dictionary define that as an exact copy or model of something. The concept of reps is not a new one, with rep watches, shoes, and clothes having been around forever.

When it comes to wheels, things are a little blurrier than the thick Jordans.
There are only a few basic structures of wheels, like five spoke, or mesh. This means that every design, is going to look a little bit like every other design since they share basic structures. Take the B B S L M and the Work V S X X as examples.
Because of this, you have some designs that are clear cut replicas. These are intended to look like the real thing, but at a cheaper price point. They're not bad options if you want a specific style and are on a budget. Most of them are made in the same factory as some of your favorite brands.
On the other side of things you have designs that are original, but are cast wheels falling into the basic spoke structures. These are unique original designs, that are fundamentally different from others. They have different details, like spoke edges, lug pockets, or the outer edge of the wheel.
Finally, just because a wheel is cast, does not make it a rep. There are plenty of low cost cast wheels that are not replicas. We get it, its trendy to scream "this dude is on reps" at anyone with an affordable cast wheel, but nothing makes you look goofier than doing this and being wrong.
