Those "drop tanks" with the missiles are conformal fuel tanks, you can see the dofference when you load the AMRAAM with the tank and wothout the tank.

Whats weird is that the f15c doesnt get a full load of 8 aim120s, which it is capable of doing. Hopefully they add before the update goes live

I don't think anyone is expecting them to be super missiles. I did 3 test runs firing 3 different ARH missiles. I waited until 20 miles and fired them at different targets. Not a single one hit. Not even the guys who just kept flying straight. Given it was the first dev server with them, and they were incredibly buggy, that might have been the problem. Accelerated too slowly, lost speed too quickly, wobbled until they were flipping back and forth, and barely ever tracked. ARH missiles aren't going to break the game any more than it's already broken by 16v16 and 6 27ER on the Su-27

I'm honestly surprised that it doesn't have the 8x AMRAAM loadout, but I'm thinking that maybe it's just early dev server stuff, we shall see

8:19 Gaijin did say in the update preview that the missile gets confused with large groups of targets idk if it's like that irl

F-15C with MSIP II upgrade is perhaps the most definitive version of the F-15. It’s the one they used in Gulf War to crush the Iraqis. By far the best jet fighter before Rafale and Eurofighter.

I'm excited for the J-8F and those PL-12s, especially at that BR; 12.3 in air and 11.7 in ground is gonna be pretty spooky

It's frustrating to see the double standards in play here. They had no issue equipping the Su-27 with 6 R-27ER missiles when those were superior to the AIM-7 Sparrows in almost every way. But now, when the R-77 and AIM-120 have similar capabilities, they are hesitating to do the same. The Su-27SM is already carrying six of the R-77s, so it doesn't make sense why they can't standardize this loadout. It feels like an inconsistent approach to weaponry that doesn't align with the capabilities of the aircraft.

I know the 120A's have smaller warheads then the 7M's, but not scoring kills on all those shots is just ridiculous!

Its still so funny that the F-15C MSIP II doesn't have the 8 x AIM-120A. Instead it only has 4 x of them. Dear gaijin, how much do you want to nerf America every single time?
