Formula E is an exciting and interesting sport. We have seen a lot of Formula 1 drivers take part after their F1 career - this made me ask the question... Is FE perfect for ex F1 drivers?

Just realised I've made an error(pointed out by a comment). Lucas Di Grassi did not win 2 championships, I apologise!

My only problem with Formula E is fanboost... popularity shouldnt be giving you an inherent advantage during a race

To this day I'm still surprised Nico Prost wasn't suspended indefinitely for purposefully crashing Nick Heidfeld in Beijing and equally surprised that Nick didn't even bitchslap him for it.

I am asbolutely rooting for the Merc guys in Formula E despite wanting Merc to lose in F1

Both Nyck and Stoffle deserve F1 seats and I really like them both

1:04 Virgin has a Formula E team to this day, even though they are no longer in F1, there are still virging drivers !

Aren't there like 7 manufacturers in formula E right now before Audi and BMW leave?

I went to the Brooklyn E Prix a couple years when I lived in NYC, and it was a great experience. Great racing, great atmosphere, great people.

I don't like the FE circuits because they're all very narrow and all look the same. I've driven a load of them way too many times on Real Racing 3 and still can't tell the difference. The narrowness is made even worse because those cars are barges.
Great video!!

i liked the gen 1 cars. Before they added those winglets

Hmm, I actually preferred the Gen1 cars when they had the winglets rather than without! As for the tracks, I think they've had some really good ones such as Buenos Aires and Rome, although I do find it funny that Monaco is actually pretty wide by FE standards!
As for F1 drivers, I feel like the series has moved away from trying to attract ex-F1 drivers in recent years. There were loads when the series first started (it was a veritable who's who) but we haven't had any since Brendon Hartley made his debut at the start of last season - and he left halfway through the year (I'm only counting drivers who have raced in F1, not those who have just done testing)! As it is, the only ex-F1 drivers left in the series as of the opening double header of the 2020-21 season are:
Sebastien Buemi
Lucas di Grassi
Andre Lotterer (raced at the 2014 Belgian GP; not that he got very far)
Stoffel Vandoorne
Jean-Eric Vergne
Pascal Wehrlein

Granted that's still a quarter of the grid but the number of ex-f1 drivers in the series' inaugural season:
Jaime Alguersuari
Jerome d'Ambrosio
Sebastien Buemi
Karun Chandhok
Lucas di Grassi
Nick Heidfeld
Vitantonio Liuzzi
Franck Montagny
Charles Pic
Nelson Piquet Jr
Takuma Sato
Stephane Sarrazin
Bruno Senna
Scott Speed
Jarno Trulli
Jean-Eric Vergne
Justin Wilson
Sakon Yamamoto
Of course, not all of them did every race and they were all at different stages of their careers, but still, 18 out of 35 drivers who did at least one race. Pretty much a case of around half the grid at a given race having F1 experience.

BMW and Audi may be leaving, but it looks like McLaren and Alfa Romeo/Maserati could be entering (with interest also being expressed from Bentley and a joint effort between Alpine and Lotus).

I am a big fan of Formula E. And yeah the Gen 1 cars look abit awkward. I am a fan of Vergne and Da Costa and also their team DS Teceetach. And no, it's not because they are the most successful team, I just like their logo.
