Magnus is right, the way that maurice structure the questions was as if he was trying to belittle his playing style. Instead of asking he was telling him that it was not smooth and the intro was even worse.

Carlsen's pissed because he and his opponent are some of the best players in the world. The chess they play is remarkably high level, even if not played as perfect as normal the gameplay is still gonna be smooth. Carlsen's worst days are still better than nearly every chess player alive right now and that's saying something.

Best way to tick off a player is to tell him his play is below expectations and after that he was not in the mood to reveal his thoughts on the game. Best way to question the champion was to simply ask "how did you feel you played?"
