Philly born here...that steak looked light on the steak, that roll looked barely half full once you folded it up and took a bite...when you bring your ass back to philly for Too Many Games this year, try to get to downtown Philly, go to South St. and go to to Jim's Steaks, or, a bit closer to Oaks is Roxborough, you can try Delesandro's. You wont regret going to either place. And for the love of God, AVOID Pat's and Geno's...they're tourist traps for people who think they're the only places to go for a "real" cheesesteak and they suck!
Love,
A Philly Native

I'll have to check 'em out next time I'm in the area for Retropalooza

My favorite Cheesesteak place in DFW. They get shipments of Amirosa rolls from Philly, and that's what really makes it.

I've been to this restaurant and I've had their Philly cheesesteak. And it was made wrong, here's where they went wrong.
First they grilled the bread and a Philly cheese steak the bread is never grilled on the inside it's kept crunchy and toasty on the outside and pillowy soft in the center. Fred's doesn't do that. They don't even season their meat when they cook it. They have you season it after it's done. I requested a little mail and ketchup and they slathered it on my bread. As far as a cheesesteak goes these are probably the most decent ones I've come across in Texas. Cuz in Texas Texans have no clue as to what a real cheesesteak is.
I've been selling authentic Philly cheesesteaks from my house and the seven I have delivered so far, all the clients ask for my number because they want another one they say they taste so good. And the flavor is so authentic. That I would even take on Fred's downtown Philly in a challenge to see who makes the best Philly cheesesteak. I am from the tri-state area and I do know how to make an authentic Philly I've had them and I've actually learned the proper way to make them. Fred just says he's from Philly and knows how to make them but his flavors are off. As far as the cheesesteak goes it would be nice being there I'd enjoy it, but then I go home and forget all about it. However the people who have chased my Phillies, can't stop talking about them.

Can't take your word that this place is any good cause you thought that Fat Joey's Brooklyn pizza place you took me to was good 🤣

Jay stop with the handsomeness I'm trying to focus on the food.

Totally agree with that about more support for the Ma & Pa joints.
Some of the best food you find in the worse looking places.

Al's Hamburgers is still my favorite place in Arlington

They call him 'Shady Jay' because everywhere he goes he casts shade upon all the people within the shadow of his gigantic frame.

They really dice up the meat, it looked like ground beef for a moment. But still looks good. I may have to try this place since I like a good cheese steak.
