A golfer's handicap is determined by two factors, which are the course rating and the slope of the golf course. Subtract the course rating from a golf score, multiply by 113 and divide by the slope, and finally multiply by .96 to find a handicap with help from a professional golf instructor in this free video on figuring out a golf handicap.

If people are asking what they shoot like "I get a +18 on 18 holes" and don't really care about handicap, that's called a bogey golfer, if ya shot even through either if you play 9 or 18 your a scratch golfer. For my high school, the only thing we keep score for is strokes and score, nothing more, nothing less

I always though handicap was what you averaged over par. My dad gives me an "18 handicap" for 18 holes. Basicly just between us, I get one stroke per hole versus him. As he should be better than me. I beat him the other day by two strokes with our system
