When I had dyed hair my mantra was:
Shampoo: just the roots.
Conditioner/mask : everything BUT the roots.
That really helped.

Tea tree oil helps with dandruff! I put a little oil on a qtip and get the spots where I get more flakes/itch AFTER showering and before blow drying/air drying.

I have purple hair and I decided to be silicone-free. oVertone has dimethicone in it, and it's way less than regular conditioners but still... silicone. I did research and use the weirdest trick ever. I mix my fav silicone-free conditioner with a tiny bit of gentian violet. It's a victorian medicine that has been used to treat thrush in babies as it's an effective anti-fungal. This stuff stains like crazy so my color stays put for quite a while. I only need to use it once a month as a mask on dry hair between washes. It deep conditions, keeps my color vibrant and doesn't use silicone. It's insane that it works, I'm still in shock.

My tips for maintaining fantasy colored hair
1. AVOID SULFATES. I've been doing the cg method for a couple months now, and if you don't use a regular harsh shampoo, you won't really lose any color
2. use coolish water for all washing, but make your final rinse with water as cold as you can stand. It's only for a few seconds! This will keep it from running and staining everything in your life...even blue!!

For dandruff try adding tea tree oil to your shampoo. It's less harsh than dandruff shampoos . It's antibacterial and anti fungal so it will help fight the fungus that causes dandruff without drying out your scalp. The flakes could also be caused by product build up. If that's the case you can use the oil and or add a bit of baking soda in to help clarify without those harsh shampoos.

Viral shampoo has been a life saver. It puts WAY more color back in than Overtone. Maybe pair viral shampoo in pastel pink with the Overtone? I also use a scalp scrubber when I'm shampooing my hair! I love it and it has stimulated so much hair growth for me! 🌸🌸 I love my routine.

My dandruff went away with lush bar shampoos. I just simply was using too many chemicals in my hair and all the natural ingredients worked wonders! I don't have dandruff anymore and my hair has gotten so much healthier 😁

You could try a scalp massage shampoo brush. I don't think you have dandruff (a fungus) but flaky scalp; you could try some kind of shampoo with sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate (a surfactant that eliminates buildup)

((Your conditioner, leave in conditioner, heat products and dry shampoo all create build up which irritate the scalp ))

My hair is the same as yours (pretty much). One of my favorite things I've found is lushs hair treatments. One does make a lot for multiple uses and they have a bunch of different ones. Keep rocking the awesome hair!

so cute, i have pink hair too!! i have a diy anti-dandruff mixture that has completely gotten rid of my dandruff. i mix together tea tree, lavender, rosemary, patchouli, and peppermint essential oils and dilute them with water. you can use any combination of these oils, you dont have to use them all. put your mixture in a spray bottle and apply to wet roots after a shower. it works really well and also leaves your hair with a beautiful smell until the next time you shower

Oh I have a trick for dandruff that my brother taught me and it actually works really well. So once a week you mix olive oil and sugar and exfoliate your scalp with it, then leave it on for a 20 minutes then wash it out, and it works really well! You should try it!

coconut oil, is anti-microbial, it's a good idea to basically do what she does with the hair mask with coconut oil to avoid dandruff. also it's very conditioning and a lot cheaper than that mask. (also if you put it on before your work out the heat from your scalp turns it into a hot oil treatment)
