It’s been 2 years since @hyundai shocked the world and introduced an affordable yet practical performance car, the Hyundai Elantra N. In that time, the Elantra N and Elantra N DCT have gone head to head with the @volkswagen GTI and even welcomed new competitors in the form the @toyotausa GR Corolla to the market but with all the change going on in the world, what’s it like to live with a Hyundai Elantra N and does anyone take it seriously?

22 Elantra N owner here. It's an amazing street car but it's even better on a track. I use mine as a track toy and it's been a pleasure driving it.
The new facelift looks more mature and forged wheels are an welcome upgrade. I hope Hyundai continue making these!

2020 Veloster N with the performance package and of course a 6MT. This is my daily driver and I have no issues with the clutch or anything else. She is over 4 years old and I drive her like a spoiled teenager (I am 65 next month). Not even a squeak or clunk. I have installed a few minor mods but off the lot this is the best sorted car I have owned. FYI, my wife's top of the line GV70 does not have wireless Carplay either.

I have a 24 Elantra N. The MPG on the sticker is a bit off in a way. The car has Standard, Sport, Eco, and N Modes. In the Eco mode i'm getting 29 MPG and up to 42 MPG on long trips. I'm assuming the 23-24 MPG is in standard Mode. They should put the MPG in each mode, cuz i wasn't too thrilled about it 23/24. I only drive in Eco and N modes. The Eco mode still moves really quick and if I need a bit more speed, i just hit the N button on my steering wheel. I had to fly out to Atlanta to get my N. Locally they were selling before they hit the lots as well as just about anywhere else. It was a 600 mile trip and that's how I found out you can get up to 42 MPG.

These are great cars. All the N cars are. Styling will always be subjective.

My reservation about saying it is a direct comparison to the GTI is that the GTI has wayyyy less hp & torque than the EN. I don't want to get on the octane learning train but I've dynoed my 22 EN under peak boost (19 psi vs 15 psi) and it put down 270 whp! These cars were definitely underrated from the factory and I think it competes a lot more with the Type R/S and GR Corolla than people care to admit.

Also I think you spoke the truth on seats; car people love them, non car people just don't get it. Lol

Just rolled over 5000 miles on my 24 elantra N - I have two (and really only 2) zonks -
1. No wireless carplay
2. The plastic panels on the door. Its just a harder plastic

All in all love the car and ride quality! I have experience with the Focus RS and Type R - all 3 easily valid and can't really go wrong with any. Elantra N's price point though...

I LOVE my 2024 Hyundai Elantra N with the DCT in Cyber Grey.

It hits way above it's class. So many cool features. I find cool new features every week.

5, 500 miles so far, and loving every second of it.

In ECO mode it EASILY gets 37-42 mpg when driving at 70mph or less

I had a white 22 EN 6 speed for a year. Had to trade it in just because the ride was too rigid for my back. That being said, it was easily one of the most fun and enjoyable vehicles I've ever had the privilege of owning.

I picked up a totally different class of car, the 2023 300C lol.

People love to hate on Korean cars. I don't understand people getting off by hating something or someone.

I purchased an Elantra n and a kona n only because at the time it was impossible to get a new Supra or Camaro zl1.
Surprisingly I loved both! I eventually got my 2022 Supra 3.0 at the 3 months later. The Elantra n and kona n were more fun than the Supra by far. Absolutely recommend both. Supra was kinda boring. Supra did get the best mpg though.

Now I have a 2023 zl1 6spd and 2024 camry hybrid. For anything under 50k Elantra n 6spd is the funnest option. I have also owned civic type r fk8, golf r 7.5, 3 Subaru sti, Evo 8. Only car I enjoy more is my Camaro zl1 6spd.

As a Kona N driver here in Europe I completely agree with you. I was really looking forward to buying Elantra N but sadly - they never brought it here in Europe. I don`t really understand why - I mean it would have been an excellent direct competitor to the Skoda Octavia RS, which is basically a re-badged GTI in a sedan version. We have plenty of performance sedan options from other European brands, but Hyundai remarkably - never pulled the trigger to bring it here. It was a big mistake IMHO, because we love the i30N and all those guys who bought it and got a family - had to look for a performance sedan elsewhere so Hyundai lost customers. Furthermore - they completely killed off the ICE N cars this February. Another big mistake - never mind how great the Ioniq 5 N is - it is just not something us N car drivers want to pay and drive. I understand the emissions aspect but Cmon @Hyundai EUROPE - other companies still offer "hot" ICE versions - especially VAG group - so what is the problem really? You guys cultivated so much N drivers and now where do we go for an upgrade or a new car? -THe competitors obviously - again A LOT of us are just NOT fans of EV cars - sorry.

This isn’t a car to take seriously, why buy a fun styled car that can be used on the track and take it “seriously”. it’s a car meant for shits and giggles and to tear up the track with while also being an awesome daily driver and it’s awesome exhaust system. I have my 24 Elantra N and I absolutely love it. (Came from a Genesis g70 3.3T and some were definitely haters saying guess the g70 is a grown man’s car, despite many people ricing the g70s out anyway haha)
