This guy was always excellent. Very knowledgeable and thorough. I always thought that he was a bit like the Sherlock Holmes of furniture. He was always immaculately attired also.

That's why for good furniture, it is said, we are only care takers not actual owners. That pice of furniture survived many generations of owners, it has a life of its own.

I always found it amazing that the appraisers has so much knowledge on these rare artifacts. It’s a whole new world now with the internet in your pocket.

The hundreds of hours of work that went into that piece is amazing!

I love old furniture. The makers had such a high regard for beauty and detail.

Laburnum wood is native to Europe and grow spectacularly in Great Britain, the blossoms are spectacular. Bright yellow and hanging like wisteria flowers they bloom in late spring .

Just having something that old is awesome, but to see that it still works, is incredible. Just goes to show how times have changed.

The Antique Collectors Club index shows that antique furniture has fallen in value by a staggering 45% since 2002.

Isn’t it strange how some people throw old out for new so easily? My Nana died and I was allowed to have her sideboard. It isn’t valuable in any way.. but it was made when things were made to last a lifetime or more! It sits proudly in my living room

I love ball feet. So much nicer than the bracket type.
