Sam is so pure that in the "The Search" arc he does something that impresses an entire BAR OF YOKAI. Also, if you're wondering how he wasn't torn to pieces by anyone at the bar, it's because a female Yokai mentioned that Sam is married to Emiko. That's enough to get them to NOT EVEN DARE LAY A HAND ON HIM.


Edit: For those that HAVEN'T read the arc, please do. I WON'T spoil what he does to prove his intentions to the Yokai. Also, I got the arc wrong. My apologies. The Search Part 11. Is where Sam is saved by the female Yokai and Part 12 is where he proves himself.
