This is a very good video as Sauvage Elixir is very good but also quite expensive. The alternatives mentioned are amazing as well.

I appreciate all that you do. You and Chris are breath of fresh air when it comes to fragrance reviews. It’s the definition of quality over quantity. I’ve got a couple channels that I follow that come out with daily fragrance lists, and admittedly, I watch them out of habit, but it’s so stale and boring. Your video’s maintain this wonderful balance of elegance and humor. The content feels like it’s made more out of a labor of love than an obligatory daily video. It’s been a joy getting to know you through your videos. I hope your heart stays in it!

I was really missing these "If you like this you might like these 5". Thank you very much for giving us another episode. I was rewatching them few weeks ago and got a lot of information out of them (I like when you recommend that no one else mentions). For me, I am still finding my way towards Sauvage Elixir. For me spices and sweetness overpower the lavender and any fougere-ish nuances of the fragrance. I was thinking it is going to be more like Drakkar Intense. But I am still buying it probably... Because it is still a really good fragrance.

Not that it’s super similar, but my substitute for Sauvage Elixir is Aaron Terence Hughes Daddy. No lavender, but the apple, nutmeg, tonka bean and oud is lovely.

Just started watching, but Creed Absolu Aventus should definitely be on here! It has an uber fruity Aventus opening, a smoother rounder Sauvage Elixir DNA with a waxy crayony metallic freshly sharpened pencil woodiness like BDC and a clean vetiver patchouli base!

I tried S Elixir at the shopping centre where a shop assistant sprayed it twice on my arm.. It was so strong that it seemed to upset people around me in a way like never before.. Then it made the passengers in my car feel ill with pounding headaches and sickly feelings. The spice seems to clash with whatever else is involved thus making it smell very much an elderly generation citizen type of fragrance...On my arrival home I headed for the nearest tap in order to wash off the Elixir... But then it came back to menace me just like the I would say that the majority of women do not like the smell of this fragrance at all.

Honestly while it might be dated I feel like a good thing to try within the genre of sauvage elixir, as I see it, “fougere with spices”, would be the original azzaro pour homme. It provides a different sense of cleanliness as well as a different sort of spice, trading in the earthy lavender with warm cinnamon to a very crisp lavender with an anise note that both rounds the fragrance and helps azzaro pour homme distinguish itself from all the masculine fragrances of yore.

Closest to Elixir I smelt without being a clone is Masculin Pluriel by MFK. I even wondered if Kurkdjian wasn't in fact the nose for Elixir, given Masculin Pluriel was released before.
