Word to the wise. I have just purchased a pair of these to replace my original ST.150's (original Mk1). The platter/motor takes a lot of getting used to as it doesn't have as much torque as the originals, so you end up overcompensating. Also, I really miss not having an indicator light at the '0' point of the pitch fader. When mixing (I'm old school) you don't always know if you're just over/under zero, which can have an affect on the song being played if you adjust incorrectly! The recessed LED doesn't shine enough light on the main platter speed markings. Instead, it basically shines on the lowest markers which is not helpful if you need to see whether you're over/under rotating, because there's no '0' indicator on the pitch fader. Lastly, there is no Key Correction at all. This was a useful function that really stood Stanton apart from the other brands... so I'm not quite sure where the increased functionality is on this product as described by the Rep in this video. UPDATE 25/05/17: I have also noticed that the platter speed (when viewed through the recessed LED) seems to look inconsistent. The dots seem to move back & forth slightly like a belt drive turntable. I haven't really noticed anything significant when playing music, so maybe it's a defect of the platter itself... as this is the same on both turntables.Hope this helps

I really dig the "less is more" approach Stanton have taken with this deck.

Dustcover options must be available to buy.
Stanton must work on this.

Stanton ST150 MKII question. Did they fix the sticky button problems of the original Stanton ST150? Loved mine until they both developed sticky buttons and base.

did they remove the quartz lock button and the zero pitch light indicator???

Why do they emphasize making turntables lighter? Heavy is better to prevent vibrations.

The (removable?) stylus light is slimmer.

so, at $600 where are the major upgrades that make me want to jump out of the originals?

I can't believe Gibson owns so much more than Gibson. Get your act together.

That "brushed steel" is actually a brushed aluminum, lady... I expected you to know that...

These are shit. £800 wasted. Poor turntables. Good torque, good bits end there. They have nothing other than torque. Biggest mistake purchase ever for me.
