With the GREATEST of respect to Dr Peterson, I think I can put it more simply than he has. I would suggest simply that life is not likely to have meaning until it has PURPOSE.

Whether that purpose is adventure, responsibility, search for knowledge, accumulating wealth or material possessions or whatever, is entirely up to the individual and what may be 'purpose' for one might well be drudgery - or disaster - for another. to each their own.
