Books To Film Adaptations That Would Be Hard

With all of these streaming networks creating shows and movies from books, I wanted to talk about some books that I personally think would be very hard to adapt on the big screen, but not impossible. What are some of yours?

Great video! Matching tone (or even darkening it effectively) is so important for adaptation success. I don't often watch adaptations because they change things and mess with my memory of the book! I almost never feel motivated to pick up a book if I've seen the movie/show first, but if I read the book first, then I have to reread the book after watching the adaptation to correct my memory. 😆

I would love to see Ash and Sand live action adaptation, but it would have to be by people who are willing to go with it and not play it too safe. I could see them ruining the story by trying to make it more accessible.

Interesting arguments. I think I often imagine my favourite novels as anime because of how much more flexibility the medium has.
