For all those saying this is too fast etc.
This video is just a DEMO of how copperplate miniscules (lower case letters) look when they are mastered CORRECTLY. It is NOT a tutorial. BUT there is a YouTube tutorial that shows you basic strokes & letter formation for this copperplate style. Search "copperplate miniscules & majiscules tutorials" (maj are uppercase letters). Search that in youtube & you'll find a slowed down stroke by stroke then letter by letter & then joining of letters tutorial in real time speed to teach you. This book is the BEST there is to teach you all you need to know too... & which nibs, papers, inks & how to guide for holding the pen & when to apply pressure & when to release. As well as how to get the 55° angle correctly on your strokes. It has a practice book too sold separately. Can trace the letters to get precision/accuracy in your strokes.
Copperplate Calligraphy from A to Z: A Step-by-Step Workbook for Mastering Elegant, Pointed-Pen Lettering (Hand-Lettering & Calligraphy Practice)
By Sarah Richardson.
I learned on this book the best out of any other books I had or checked out from the library.
I suggest you start there & also purchase on Prime along with the book these items to get you started with the book. A Rhodia Notepad sz A4 square grid & get the 2 piece set of hard & soft black Tombow Fuedonosaki pens. They're $5 for the set. $15 each for the workbook (& practice book to trace). It's about $13 for an A4 sz Rhodia paper square or dot grid notebook. You need special paper. Thats the best cost wise.
Now you're all set & can learn this style of calligraphy. Then you can expand & use dip ink with a nib like she's doing vs the pens for beginner or for on the go practice or Journaling.
It is a true joy to do. Expand your horizons & learn watercolor, then do poetry or writing in this style over your watercolor paintings or drawings with watercolor pens/pencils. It's a beloved art style that I too thoroughly enjoy. I've done calligraphy since I was 12 years old but just learned the true Copperplate & Spencerian style with dip pointed flex pens 3 years ago. It is quite easy once you get the basic strokes & learn how to create them. And using the square grid on the notepad to get uniform letters. Then doing professional pieces use a lightboard with grid lines under your piece on the lightboard. They run $25 for A4 size. Which is about 8x10.
Hope all of this helps you if you truly want to learn the craft. I hope you do. Best of luck 👍 ❤

Video is too fast to be of any use... and the option to slow it down is not there.

What type of paper are you writing on? Thank you!!

Loved it! I try to improve my handwriting. Seeking to improve the proportions of the letters. I know it's laborious, if you can post a video with capital letters, it would be beautiful. Greetings from Brazil.
