Starmer's AI strategy announcement overshadowed by economy woes

Our political editor Beth Rigby was among the journalists who asked the prime minister a question after his speech about AI.

She asked about the potential for spending cuts amid the economic challenges the government's facing.

Speaking after, Beth said the speech was clearly "overshadowed" by the market turmoil - with the cost of government borrowing having hit its highest level since the financial crisis.

maybe help the northen regions and increase jobs offers and businesses might be more inclined to work in the northern regions and maybe u can increase pays and tax but NO put all AI in london people lose jobs and maybe go broke and then the suits get more money becuase they dont need to pay people that work becuase AI will do everything.Surely this going to go down very well with the people
