Hey! I misinterpreted the question from 2 a at 16:40. The direction of the force given on the diagram is wrong. It should be pointing towards the centre of the circle. My bad. This is the correct interpretation:
Thumb = force felt
Index finger = direction of magnetic field
Middle finger = motion of positively charged particle ( not current here)
(I thought we had to consider the direction of current as our middle finger, but we needed to consider the movement of the positively charged particle instead)
So, if we consider the particle at the bottom, the middle finger should point to the right, thumb should point towards the centre of the circle so the index finger points into the page, which is basically “vertically downwards” according to the context of this question.
Since the force is always perpendicular to the velocity, it undergoes circular motion.
