Pokémon Black and White: Accumula Town (SteelDragon8 Remix)

Hey guys, I hope you enjoy this one! This was supposed to be my November release but I've unfortunately been pretty busy. Better late than never I suppose!

And you can't just remix Accumula Town without the presence of a specific Pokémon... He walk...

It took me around 5-6 hours to get the Furret gif to work properly, the hard part was getting it to be transparent. I tried countless websites to remove the background and I had no success, they either didn't work or it was done horribly. So I ended up extracting all ten frames from the gif into a zip, and manually trimming out the background in paint 10 times. Then I put the new frames back into a gif. It isn't perfect, but I think it turned out pretty good!

Man, what a production! Between the audio and visuals, you've really nailed everything here! And reading about the process, it seems a ton of work was put into this video to ensure that no corners were cut - I really admire that!

One thing that stands out to me right away is the use of supporting auxiliary percussion. It was such a pleasant surprise at 0:19 to hear that lead-in with the hi hat, snare, and finger snaps. I love how in the section that follows that create this satisfyingly complex groove in tandem with the kick. The use of different velocities in the hi hat, quick snaps on the upbeats, and kick hits on 1, 3 & 4 makes for a unique and groovy beat! Honestly, I couldn't stop going back to that section because it just sounds so good! And I also really enjoy how some additional percussive elements are added later on, like cowbell, and some kind of metallic shaker, it sounds like. It's clear that a great deal of work was put into the drums and percussion here, and the payoff is immense!

Great instrument choices here, as well! I like the contrast of that cute lead synth with the trance-y saws in the supporting chords and moving arpeggios. And my goodness, the bass sounds excellent here - it's deep and has a great upper twang with those slap notes, and the moving quarter notes in the B section complement the Reggaeton rhythm beautifully! And while we're talking about the instrumentation, I have to also mention that the addition of that countermelody at 1:30 with that pluckier synth is fantastic, and very in-theme with the piece, given how the original utilizes the mechanic of added instruments - I always thought that was so cool in the games. Oh, and that ending is nice and snappy, too, with that final bass note bringing things to a close. Again, the music here is just superb! :D

And dang, the process you went through to make a transparent GIF for Furret sounds really labor-intensive, but it feels like a staple element of the song (unofficially speaking 😅), so as grapetape64 mentioned, definitely worth it! (not to mention you had to make a reversed GIF of it, too) Also... you madman, I see what you did there at 0:09 and 0:18, having the title and Pokeball spectrum analyzer fade in _exactly_ in time with those iconic three notes. And dude, I love that slick screen wipe at the end to coordinate perfectly with the End Screen. Everything is just timed down to the smallest increment, and I love that attention to detail!

Really, this is such a fantastic piece, and it's truly awesome that you're doing so much with your videos, in terms of both music and visuals. Keep it up, Steel! 🌟

The Furret GIF was definitely worth it. The time you spent on it really makes it look great (that's my opinion hehe). Regarding your remix, in addition to being insane, it really makes me really happy. Even though I haven't played this generation of Pokemon, this song sounds very familiar to me. Keep up your work!
