"How more disappointed and pissed can we make our customers" Avid: Hold my beer fellas!

Officially leaving Pro Tools after 15 years. The fact you guys decided to go to a subscription based just screws majority of your users. Thank You for making this decision easier.

This things can be easily said about any of current major DAWs. Pro Tools used to be standard but not anymore. I can’t imagine a professional studio without Logic or Ableton nowadays. Subscription is a ridiculous money grab that will cut off bedroom producers but I guess they were never a target for Avid. I still own digi003 and pro tools 8 le running on my 2012 MacBook Pro and that’s great offline mobile recording set up. The question is can you run new version of pro tools without internet connection?

Seeing Wavy Wayne & Amir Perry made me smile. I’ve been watching their content for a couple of years now. They were my intro to Protools 🤴🏾

You guys are going to lose customers going 100% subscription only.

Honestly this is a really great bluff!
I mean all the features that they are praising are already implemented in 99% of the other days. And industry standard? No way! When it comes to mixing maybe.
But here is a list of other days and their usage as standards:
FL Studio (Techno, EDM, Hip Hop)
Ableton (Loop Artists, Sounddesigners, Electronic Music)
Logic (basically creating and writing music)
Cubase, Dorico, Nuendo (Filmmusic)
Reaper (Sounddesign, Gamesounddesign, Metal)

Mixing is able in any daw, same goes with making music, it's ears, taste, creativity and skills that matter.
I'm myself are a hybrid musician, composer and producer using Reaper and Ableton. Do I know my way around in Pro Tools? Yes. Do I think it's overpriced, buggy, resource hoggy and has missing a lot of features to other Daws I use and used? Yes. Do I damn Pro Tools? No, everyone may use what suits them and Pro Tools and Cubase are the historical foundations of Daws. But do I think that this commercial is a big hoax and fraud for telling you get with it a cheap multimillion dollar studio and the industry standard? Yes

Came hoping for something substantive regarding 2022.4... got a useless five minute commercial instead.

Sure it’s used in a lot of studios… but can it run a VST?

why Avid thinks is a great idea to use "When you go to big studios you have pro tools" as his main selling point? 💀

I have been using Cubase for over 20 years and it’s a spectacular daw. I’m just ordered Protools Studio just in case. I’m a Mixing With the Master pro subscriber and most of those engineers use Protools so I’m going to learn so that I can fully utilize what’s being taught.

Hello, sorry, I have a question, I recently switched to Pro tools studio, I have an analog equalizer but I couldn't use it as an insert, I don't know what's going on 🤯, I normally connect it to the input of my interface #3 and return it for output #3 the same, then as usual I put the insert i\o 3 in my daw but it doesn't sound!!😱 I'm going crazy, thank you for your help!!

As of today, Pro Tools is the suckiest software for the most amount of money. I'm keeping my perpetual and you can shove that subscription. We asked for M1 native and you gave us a newly branded same old song and dance. Must be your legal option to ditch your perpetual owners for good. You definitely lost this one for sure. We all know M1 made the carbon obsolete. Everyone else will figure it out soon enough. Reaper is better anyway.

Well, I'm learning how to use Pro Tools, I'm new to it...
But, my favorite DAWs are (and the ones I mostly use in the studio) : Cubase (the best), Studio One (made by Cubase developers) and Reason.
I use FL Studio as a plugin instrument, I also use it for adjusting vocals (Newtone) and for cleaning samples (Edison).

Why do I have to pay, yearly, twice the price for the same tool that doesn't evolve, and is 5 years, if not 10 years, behind the rest of the industry ?

Avid changing it's pricing. Again...
Avid is affraid.
Avid is dying.
Avid is lost.
