I like that the movies don't 'ship-bait' Rosita and Gunter. They're friends and costars, but they don't try to force a romance between them.

Yes, I know she's married. But at the start of the first movie, I honestly thought it was going to end with her leaving Norman for Gunter because they set him up like he just ignored her. I was so happy when they actually had Norman step up instead. And he was such a great supportive husband in the sequel.

What I love about the two movies we have so far, is that Buster has the characters grow past their fears and limitations that would otherwise hold them back! When he first made the auditions, he was in a desperate situation himself, but he can SEE the talent in those around him and pair them up with others if they need to be balanced out. In the case of Rosita, she's a hardworking mother of... (a dozen?) piglets with a husband who's also hardworking but doesn't really pay her any attention. Plus, while Rosita had talent in singing, she was hesitant and never truly came out of her shell. Having been paired up with Gunther, she learned that she doesn't have to be overly meticulous and just go with her gut. We can see her confidence grow bit by bit up until the finale. In the second movie, her boundaries were pushed further, igniting her fear of heights. Despite assuring everyone that she didn't mind when her lead role was passed to someone else, she was DEVASTATED and possibly blaming herself when she was able to fully break down in private. When she got to be the lead role, she got her confidence back. Buster Moon became one of her extended family, and we see her fears disappear when Buster was in trouble. Rosita, like so many others have grown due to Buster's influence.

Personally, I really ike Rosita. She is so underrated. I see her as great mother with big passion and dream. She was hesistant at first but goodness she got the voice and stunt to do many of the show. Not to mention her dozens of children to care too.
