And Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practice. The gloves I wear are tight-fitting and don’t have any loose threads. African blackwood.?? Here in germany it's called Grenadill....very hard, very rare....

That's beautiful wood, but if the plant/tree is in danger it's only right to protect it.

I think iv got some of that from some old railway sleepers very hard to turn and cut
