The battery "trick" is far too vague for your average person. What type of battery is it? What are the voltages? How did you dispose of the LiPo battery correctly? So many things in that procedure can go very wrong without correct knowledge.

To avoid splitting the wood you can start off by drilling in reverse. That way you won’t have to snip the tips off of the screw. 👍🏼

The second screw that you took the tip off still caused the wood to split when you drilled it into the wood. Pilot holes are a lot better.
