Actual answer is most are floating. Theres a few that actually touch the ocean floor but they are comparatively small and all they do for those is make a huge steel platform a few hundred meters long and sink it to the bottom. You can look up pictures of the installment for Petronius Platform.

That wouldn’t exactly just drop in like a lawn dart even from just 3-5k feet up lol, that’s insane… they bulild them piece by piece and yes take down submarine and diving gear and weld the bases in and then build up from there

I swear I love being human, I have never read so many wtf comments as I have here. Everyone wanted a specific answer and the narrator was just making noise. We want to see how it is done Mr Narrator, not a quick fizz. Tbf I think you have a better chance of seeing how an oil rig is built on Quest or the Discovery Channel. I’m going to watch Deep Water Horizon now just to get a better feel of how claustrophobic it would be working there….
